The University of Kragujevac is a modern education and research center embracing almost all major areas of teaching and research, with a student population of 20,000 and 1,200 academic staff. The University was established and developed based on the concept of dispersed university, comprising 12 faculties in six towns of the Central Serbia region. In addition to education, research is the second important mission of the University of Kragujevac, implemented through fundamental, integrated, interdisciplinary, developmental and applied research schemes. Our research represents new knowledge in all five educational, scientific and art fields: natural and mathematics, technical and technological, social sciences and humanities, medical sciences and art fields. At faculties, the scientific research is carried out within laboratories, institutes and centers (118 Research unites).
The University of Kragujevac is on the prestigious Shanghai list at position 401-500 in the field of mathematics, and it is also ranked on other famous ranking lists, such us: RankPro 557/600, U-Multirank 826/1269, Webometrics 1795/11995, UI GreenMetric World University Rankings 320/619, U.S. News Rankings 1216/1250, URAP Ranking 1377/2500, SJR Rank – Match RS 1/55 World 2007, SIR Rank 621/704. Recognizing the importance of the principles of European Charter for Researchers, the University of Kragujevac put all its efforts in aligning its research policies with the European standards in this field. Dedicated to fostering international cooperation in research and mobility of researches and to enhancing the careers of its researches, the University of Kragujevac adopted the Human Resources Strategy for Researchers.
